What this app is
Makhan Malai DMS is a private business tool (a distribution management system) used by Shree Krishna Tea Company and its own staff to record sales, payments and party accounts. It is available at https://dms.makhanmalai.com. It is not a public service: only people who are given a login by the company can use it.
How the app uses Google Drive
The only reason this app connects to Google is to save a nightly backup of the company's own database. In plain words:
- It asks for one permission only: Google Drive "drive.file" scope. This lets the app see and manage only the files and the folder that the app itself creates.
- The app creates its own folder in your Google Drive (called "Makhan Malai DMS") and puts encrypted database backup files in it.
- The backup files are encrypted with a password that is kept only on the company's own server. Google, and anyone who gets hold of the files, cannot read them without that password.
- The app cannot see, open, change or delete any other file in your Google Drive. It cannot read your e-mail, contacts, calendar or any other Google service.
- Old backups are removed automatically by the app (the newest 30 daily, 12 weekly and 12 monthly copies are kept).
What we store, and where
- The company's business records (parties, bills, payments, items) are stored on the company's own private server. They are used only to run the business.
- The Google sign-in permission (an access token) is stored on the company's own server in an encrypted form, only so that the nightly backup can run.
- We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not build profiles, and we do not use it for any purpose other than saving and restoring these backups.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent, share or transfer any data, including Google user data, to anyone. The only place the backups go is the Google Drive folder that the account owner chose to connect.
Your control
- You can disconnect Google Drive at any time from the app (Backup page → Disconnect), or remove the app's access from your Google Account under "Third-party apps & services".
- You can delete the "Makhan Malai DMS" folder in your Google Drive at any time.
- If you ask the company to delete its records, we will delete them from the server and from the backup folder, except where the law requires us to keep business records.
Security
The site works only over HTTPS, passwords are stored in a hashed form, the database is not reachable from the internet, and backups are encrypted.
